Traffic & Pedestrian Pattern Updates  A road closure remains in effect for ALL lower level outer roadway traffic. The road closure is posted and detour signs direct all vehicles that normally use this roadway to use an alternate traffic pattern during this time. The Upper Level Departures roadway remains open at all times and may be used by family and friends picking up arriving passengers as an alternate option to the Lower Level Arrivals road.

Traffic & Pedestrian Pattern Updates Increased vehicle traffic is anticipated this upcoming week with the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching.  Family and Friends picking up passengers at the Airport are encouraged to use the new Smart Phone Lot for staging to reduce vehicle congestion.  The Upper Level Roadway will remain open for family and friends picking up passengers as an alternate option. Local law enforcement are actively assisting in maintaining traffic flow.

Detour signage is posted for traffic flow, pedestrian movement and ground transportation vendors.

Hudson News Opens on Lower Level

The newly relocated Hudson News Store has opened on the lower level of the ROC Airport terminal.  The in-line shop is located near the center of the baggage claim and will be conveniently located across from the new passenger greeting area which will be under construction soon and is anticipated to open fall of next year.  The brand will also be opening a new Hudson Store post-security in the center of the food court as part of the ongoing terminal renovations.

Hudson News has been operating at ROC since 1999.

Tuesday, October 17th, 2017

Beginning approximately Oct. 23, 2017 a temporary road closure will be in effect at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) for ALL Lower Level, Outer Roadway Traffic.  The road closure will be posted and detour signs will direct all vehicles that normally use this roadway to use an alternate traffic pattern during this time.  

This roadway closure is necessary for the beginning phase of construction for the terminal entrance canopy.

Terminal Update All major work on the caissons is complete detailing being addressed next week. Pre-Construction meeting on the entrance canopy was held, preliminary site preparation will begin next week between the parking garage and the terminal. The Hudson News Store (lower level) is near completion and will open early next week. Restroom renovations post-security are nearing completion.

Terminal Update The last caisson is being poured on the North ramp. Pre-Construction meeting on the entrance canopy is coming up next week. The Hudson News Store (lower level) is in the process of having shelves and lighting installed. Restroom renovations post-security are nearing completion. Electrical connectivity for the air conditioning control system is progressing.

Bids have been received for the tensile fabric entrance canopy, structural steel for the food court renovation and new fiber for the terminal.  Caisson work in the North Ramp adjacent to the terminal building will begin the week of August 28th.  Passenger Security Checkpoint construction activity is planned to begin Fall 2017.

Bids have been received for the Security/Exiting & Enhancement project (Project A) and also the foundation package for Project B.  Contracts are being executed and awarded.  Passenger Security Checkpoint construction activity is planned to begin Fall 2017.

Parking Update All parking lots remain open. The new ROC Airport Smart Phone Lot is open and operating.  Traffic Pattern Updates None. Traffic patterns remain the same.

Terminal/Security/Gate Update Construction is underway at ROC.  New restrooms being constructed post-security are progressing on schedule.  New air conditioning chillers have arrived and are being installed. There are no construction-related changes in ticketing, security or in gate assignments at this time.

This week ROC hosted the Grand Opening of the new Airport Smart Phone lot. The lot is conveniently located before the terminal and features a large, digital flight information display so motorists arriving to pick up passengers can track arrivals. Thirty-one parking spaces are available along with an electric vehicle charging station.

The Smart Phone lot project will be completed in August per contract requirements.  Flight Information display connectivity is being finalized to allow for site activation.

Terminal/Security/Gate Update Construction is underway at ROC.  New restrooms being constructed post-security are progressing on schedule. There are no construction-related changes in ticketing, security or in gate assignments at this time. 

Multiple components associated with the project are out to bid with some major bids to be submitted in August.

The Smart Phone lot project continues to progress on schedule. Power installation to allow site activation is complete. Travelers may see minimal construction equipment as they enter the Greater Rochester International Airport property.  Parking Update All parking lots remain open. The current cell phone lot remains open for use. Please follow the black and white signs to the lot. The new Smart Phone Lot is moving along and will be ready for use by late summer 2017.

Traffic Pattern Updates None. Traffic patterns remain the same. Terminal/Security/Gate Update Construction is underway at ROC. There are no construction-related changes in ticketing, security or in gate assignments at this time.
